AI Chat Assistant
FieldOps has an AI assistant that knows your operation. Ask it questions in plain English — it reads the live data and answers with real numbers. Good for quick status checks when you're moving and don't have time to tap through screens.
• 3 spot fires (Fire Related)
• 2 engines (Fire Assets)
• 2 hazard pins (downed lines)
• 1 command post
Most recent was dropped 4 min ago by Dale.
• Sarah K (last pin 2h 14m ago)
• Mike T (signed in, no activity)
How to Open It
Tap the ⚡ button at the bottom-right corner of the map. A chat panel slides up. Type your question, hit send, get an answer. The panel stays open until you close it — keep asking follow-ups.
What It Knows
The assistant has access to:
- Every pin in the operation (type, title, who dropped it, when, notes)
- The team roster and who's currently online
- Recent activity (last pin dropped, last edit, last sign-in)
- Operation settings and enabled features
- Follow Me tracks and coverage data
Good Questions to Ask
- "How many pins are in the north sector?"
- "Who's on the op right now?"
- "What were the last 5 pins dropped?"
- "Has anyone searched the east ridge yet?"
- "Who's not been active in the last hour?"
- "Summarize the fire progression today"
The AI chat is admin-only for now. Users and Viewers don't see the button. This is because the assistant can see everything across the operation, including team member activity — not appropriate to expose to everyone.
What It Can't Do (Yet)
- Change pins or settings on your behalf
- Send notifications or messages to team members
- Generate reports (use the Reports menu)
- Answer questions about other operations — only sees the one you're in
Privacy & Data
Your questions and the operation data are sent to the AI service (Anthropic Claude) to generate an answer. Conversation history clears when you close the panel. Nothing is stored long-term, nothing is used for training.
