Settings
Every operation has its own settings panel. Site title, app icon, team roster, pin types, overlays — all configured per-operation, not per-app. Open it from the gear icon in the operation's top bar.
The Main Sections
Operation
- Site Title — the name you see in the top bar and on the Projects list
- App Icon — which emoji/icon represents this operation (helps when you're switching between several)
- Operation Type — changes defaults; can be changed mid-operation if conditions shift
Team & Access
- Team Roster — list of people with direct access and their assigned roles
- Access PINs — the User and Viewer PINs for share-link sign-ins
Map
- Pin Types — toggle enabled categories (see Pin Types)
- Overlays — parcel boundaries, restricted airspace, custom GeoJSON layers
- Default Layer — which base layer (Street/Satellite/Topo/Hybrid) opens by default
Data
- Export — pull operation data out as JSON, GeoJSON, or PDF report
- Archive — move the operation to the archive list (reversible)
- Delete — permanent. Admin-only, with a confirmation.
Most settings are admin-only. Users and Viewers can see the operation name and basics, but can't change pin types, overlays, or access controls. If you need a setting changed, ask an admin.
Overlays — Parcel Data
FieldOps supports GeoJSON overlays for property boundaries. Hardy and Hampshire county WV parcels are pre-loaded. For other counties, an admin can upload a GeoJSON file in Settings → Overlays → Upload.
Parcel overlays show property lines on the map. Tap a parcel to see owner name, address, and acreage — essential for fire (who do we notify?), recovery (do we have permission?), and SAR (whose property is the searcher on?).
